Honestly

I also, a few years ago,

for women's Brazilian

didn't do it like this

As summer approaches, in the clinic,

more people come in clutching their towels tightly.

"I had 6 sessions elsewhere,

but only there it keeps growing back"

there are really a lot of people who say that.

Today I'll explain the reason step by step.

Why Brazilian Laser Hair Removal Hurts More

What on earth

is different about it

Brazilian hair removal treats the pubic bone and vulva,

and even around the anus

to tidy up the entire area.

Unlike bikini line hair removal,

Brazilian reaches areas close to mucous membranes,

so it handles border areas,

the skin thickness and follicle depth vary by area.

If you fire with one setting without knowing this difference,

some areas hurt too much,

and some areas don't shed well.

is different about it

Why do some people

see less effect?

Because Brazilian hair removal is for a sensitive area,

pain control and hygiene are the most important.

GentleMax Pro Plus's cooling system and

its two selectable wavelengths

make a difference in both pain and results.

Last month, a patient like this came in.

They had 8 sessions at another dermatology clinic,

the center of the pubic area was almost all gone, and

the deeper part of the Y-zone

still had coarse hairs left.

Laser hair removal varies in depth

depending on the wavelength.

Alexandrite 755nm

responds to relatively shallow follicles,

and Nd:YAG 1064nm

penetrates to a depth of about 4 to 5 mm.

The Brazilian area has both deep, coarse follicles

and shallow, fine-hair areas mixed together

so one wavelength alone can't catch both.

GentleMax Pro Plus

can switch between these two wavelengths,

and the DCD cooling spray right before each laser pulse

cools the epidermis and greatly reduces pain.

Director Wi Young-jin's

Key takeaway

For Brazilian hair removal, more than 'how many sessions'

'whether the wavelength matched my follicle depth'

determines the result.

And for the process to hurt less,

the cooling has to work properly.

Key takeaway

In my clinic,

I divide it like this

Type

Recommended wavelength

Session count

Light skin, mostly fine hair

mainly 755nm

5-7 sessions

Coarse, deep hair, hormonal

mainly 1064nm

6-10 sessions

Darker skin tone

fixed at 1064nm

7-10 sessions

Because 1064nm goes deeper,

the pain can feel stronger,

but if you choose the right wavelength,

even people who didn't see results before

can expect clear change again.

In the clinic,

the three most common questions

Q1. Should I definitely avoid it during my period?

On the day of your period, due to hygiene issues and increased pain sensitivity,

it's not recommended.

Usually, if you schedule it 2 to 3 days after it ends,

it's much more comfortable.

Q2. How many sessions and what interval do you set?

At first, about 5 sessions at 4- to 6-week intervals,

then spacing them out to 6 to 8 weeks,

you should expect a total of 7 to 10 sessions.

It's not a procedure that ends in one treatment.

Q3. I'm worried about side effects.

Can hyperpigmentation or burns occur too?

If the epidermal cooling is done properly, most cases

settle down to temporary redness and

some swelling.

For about 3 days after the procedure,

please avoid saunas and tight underwear.

I'll continue with a deeper discussion in the next post.

Frequently asked questions

Q. Should it definitely be avoided during your period?

A. It is not recommended on the day of your period because of hygiene issues and sensitivity to pain.

Q. How many times and at what intervals should I set it?

A. Initially, you should have about 5 sessions at 4- to 6-week intervals. After that, you can spread them out to every 6 to 8 weeks, for a total of 7 to 10 sessions.

Q. I'm worried about side effects. Can hyperpigmentation or burns also occur?

A. If epidermal cooling is applied properly, most cases will subside to temporary redness and swelling.

Q. How should I care for the area in the days following a Brazilian laser hair removal treatment?

A. For about 3 days after the procedure, it is best to avoid saunas and tight-fitting underwear. If epidermal cooling is properly applied, most symptoms will subside to just temporary redness and swelling, but minimizing irritation ensures a more comfortable recovery.
