GentleMax Pro Plus
Costs,
How Are They Determined?

Q. GentleMax Pro Plus cost,
isn't it the same everywhere?
A. Even with the same machine, the price varies depending on the area, number of sessions,
and skin/hair condition.
Rather than comparing estimates, it's much more important to
first check the settings that fit your case.
Q. Is buying a large-area package all at once
always the best deal?
A. After first checking your own hair and skin response,
deciding on the number of sessions
is actually a better way to reduce wasted spending.
"The treatment cost for BeautyStone's GentleMax Pro Plus varies
depending on the area and number of sessions, and
through a 1:1 personalized consultation before treatment,
we provide an accurate estimate"
— Director Wi Young-jin (BeautyStone Clinic, Hongdae)

What You Need to Know Before Cost
— Why the Prices Differ
"Clinic A is ₩O for full body,
so why is Clinic B more expensive?"
I get questions like this all the time.
But the tricky part is this:
even with the same machine, the GentleMax Pro Plus
uses completely different output values (fluence) and pulse width settings
for each person.
To put it simply:
someone with light skin and thick hair,
someone with darker skin and fine hair,
if these two people receive treatment with the same settings,
one person's results will be reduced,
and the other person's risk of burns will increase.
So the first thing that should come up before cost is
"What settings will you use?"
Honestly,
choosing based on the price list alone
is like picking a restaurant by looking at the menu.
Whether the food actually suits your taste
is a separate matter.
The GentleMax Pro Plus uses
Alexandrite (755nm) and
Nd:YAG (1064nm), two wavelengths.
Alexandrite is strong for light skin and thick hair,
and Nd:YAG can be used relatively safely
even on darker skin types.
Depending on how these two wavelengths are combined
and what output is used for the settings,
the number of sessions changes,
and ultimately the total cost changes as well.
"Five properly done sessions"
is better than "ten cheap sessions."
This is a common misunderstanding,
but just because a hair-removal laser is inexpensive
doesn't mean it's automatically a good deal.
What matters are three things.
First, whether the wavelength matches your skin type.
Second, whether it is performed at an appropriate output.
Third, whether cooling works properly at that output.
The GentleMax Pro Plus has
a cooling device called
DCD (Dynamic Cooling Device) built in.
It works by spraying cooling gas right before the laser is fired
to protect the epidermis,
but if the cooling timing is off,
raising the output only increases pain
and can actually reduce the effect.
👨⚕️ Director Wi Young-jin's
Key Takeaway
The GentleMax Pro Plus cost is
not determined by the "machine name"
but by "area size × number of sessions × individual skin response."
determined.
If you decide on the treatment area in detail before the consultation,
we can give you a much more accurate estimate.
At BeautyStone, through 1:1 consultations,
we first check your skin type
and then provide the estimate.

How Costs Differ by Area and Type
—
It varies by case,
but this is usually how I explain it.
Small areas (upper lip, eyebrows, fingers)
have a small surface area,
so the treatment time is shorter and the cost is lower.
On the other hand, large areas like the back or full body
take longer to treat,
and the cost of maintaining the output also goes up accordingly.
And there's also the matter of number of sessions.
The hair follicle cycle averages 4 to 8 weeks,
and you need to follow that cycle properly
for the laser to reach follicles in the growth phase.
Only when follicles in the growth phase are properly destroyed
is regrowth suppressed.
In general, the face and underarms need 6 to 8 sessions,
and areas with a large surface area and
high hair density, such as the legs or arms,
may require 8 to 10 or more sessions.
There were quite a few cases where people said they had no effect even after 10 sessions elsewhere,
but after adjusting the settings at our clinic,
they noticeably changed after just 2 or 3 sessions.
But that's not always a good thing.
If you buy a large number of sessions from the start,
you may end up purchasing more than you actually need.
So I usually recommend checking the response after the first session
and then deciding whether to add more.
Area | Average Recommended Sessions | Main Wavelength Used | Cost Level |
Underarms | 6~8 sessions | Alexandrite (755nm) | Provided after consultation |
Legs (calves · thighs) | 8~10 sessions | Alexandrite / YAG combination | Provided after consultation |
Face (beard · upper lip) | 6~10 sessions | Adjusted according to skin tone | Provided after consultation |
Bikini · full body | 8~12 sessions | Set with a higher YAG ratio | Provided after consultation |
One thing I really need to say is that
most price information posted online
uses completely different standards.
Even for the same "full body,"
whether hands and feet are included, and whether the face is included,
differs by clinic, so it's hard to compare directly.
That's why at our BeautyStone clinic,
during the consultation we check the areas you want directly
and explain the number of sessions and settings suited to those areas,
as well as the overall estimated cost,
one on one.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. If another area is added midway through treatment,
how does the cost change?
A. Additional areas are quoted separately
based on that point in time.
If you add an area that wasn't in the original package midway,
we can flexibly adjust it according to the sessions already done and the sessions remaining.
If you let us know during the consultation in advance,
it is often more advantageous to bundle everything from the start.
Q2. Can I receive treatment while pregnant or breastfeeding?
A. We do not recommend treatment during pregnancy.
Because there isn't enough data on the laser's effect on the fetus,
for safety we recommend postponing it until after delivery.
The same goes for breastfeeding:
it's better to receive a consultation after it has ended.
Q3. Is it possible to treat multiple areas
on the same day?
A. Yes, and in fact it is often more efficient.
However, the larger the skin area,
the longer the treatment time becomes,
and skin irritation can build up,
so we recommend deciding while considering your condition that day.
We'll check it together during the consultation.
We recommend getting enough consultation before treatment
and then making your decision.
Rather than the cost number, "Is this the right setting for my skin?"
is what you should check first,
and that is ultimately the wiser choice.
