Juvelook nodules,
don't believe the claim that they
go away on their own

Q. If a lump appears after Juvelook,
will it all be absorbed over time?
A. Yes, a simple swelling-related lump usually does.
But nodules are different, and
if left untreated, they can actually get bigger.
Q. Is the reason nodules form
that Juvelook itself is dangerous?
A. More than the drug itself, the dilution ratio,
injection depth, and injection volume control
are the main causes of nodules.

What is Juvelook?
Juvelook is
a collagen-stimulating injection containing
PDLLA (Poly-D,L-Lactic Acid).
If existing skin boosters focused on
hydration, Juvelook works by
inducing collagen production in the dermis.
It works on a similar principle to Sculptra,
but the particles are much finer and are
designed to be injected into the superficial skin layers.

Lump or nodule,
this distinction comes first
This is a point many people misunderstand,
because the raised bump right after the procedure is
actually mostly a 'lump,' not a 'nodule.'
The tricky part is that
it feels similar when you touch it from the outside.
On day 3 after the procedure, if the drug has not yet been absorbed
and is clumped together, that can be normal,
but a real nodule does not shrink
or it becomes hard over time.
Usually, if 2 to 4 weeks have passed after the procedure
and a hard lump is still felt
with no change in size,
you should start suspecting a nodule.
Lump vs. nodule comparison chart
Type | Temporary lump | Nodule (Nodule) |
Onset time | Immediately after the procedure ~ within 1 week | Between 2 and 8 weeks after the procedure |
Texture | Soft and squishy | Hard with distinct borders |
Size change | Gradually shrinks | Persists or grows |
Natural resolution | Absorbed within 1~2 weeks | Difficult to resolve naturally |
Need for treatment | Observation | Medical intervention needed |

The real reason nodules form
— not the drug, but the 'control'
To be honest, Juvelook as a
drug itself is not something that easily causes nodules.
The particles are designed to be very fine.
But when you look at cases where nodules do form,
most of them involve either the dilution ratio, the injection depth,
or over-injection per point.
Juvelook is used by diluting the powder,
and if this ratio is too concentrated,
the particles are more likely to clump together in one place.
Also, setting the proper depth within the dermis
is the core of the technique, and not putting
too much in one spot is important.
A 10-degree difference in needle angle changes the result.
It's not simply that the medicine is good or bad—
it's a matter of 'how you inject it.'
Director Wi Young-jin's key summary
The cause of Juvelook nodules depends more on
the dilution ratio, injection depth,
and injection volume than on the drug itself.
The injector's technical details
directly determine the nodule occurrence rate.
The most dangerous misconception is
saying, "It doesn't matter where you get it; it's all the same."

If a nodule has already formed
— treatment criteria
For people who already have a nodule,
pressing on it hard at home or massaging it
doesn't help much.
That's because a real nodule is a state
in which the tissue reaction has already progressed,
so it cannot be resolved by physical pressure.
Treatment usually starts with an intralesional steroid injection
to calm the inflammatory response.
If the nodule is large and does not respond,
direct drainage or laser destruction
may be used.
The longer it is left untreated, the harder it becomes to manage,
so rather than letting a problem that could have been simple if seen early
grow bigger, it is important not to let it linger.
To prevent nodules
— pre-procedure checklist
The best option is to prevent them from happening in the first place.
Checking the dilution before the procedure
is not strange at all.
Because the dermal thickness differs by area, such as the forehead, cheeks, and under the eyes,
make sure the clinic adjusts the dosage by area.
A lump within 1 week after the procedure is normal,
but if it lasts more than 2 weeks,
coming in right away is the most practical way to prevent it from worsening.
Frequently asked questions
Q1. Juvelook Volume and regular Juvelook,
is the risk of nodules different?
Juvelook Volume has a different ingredient concentration,
but the key cause of nodules is the same.
It does not mean the risk is
higher or lower just because it is Volume.
Q2. How much does nodule treatment cost?
Injection treatment is at a relatively manageable cost.
However, if you leave it alone and it progresses to surgical treatment,
the cost goes up, so early treatment is better.
Q3. After a nodule has formed,
can I get Juvelook again?
It is possible after the nodule has completely resolved.
However, if you get it done the same way as before,
it will recur,
so the treatment method must be adjusted.
This has been Wi Young-jin.
