Revive Lasts 6 Months — So Why Return at 3?

Revive Lasts 6 Months — So Why Return at 3?
Revive lasts 6–9 months on average, but half of patients don’t know the glow peaks at month 3.

Revive is said to last 6 months,
but why do some people come back after just 3 months?
When the seasons change, the clinic starts to fill with people
looking at their dull, dry faces in the mirror.
"I heard one treatment lasts 6 months,
but why does the glow seem to fade after about 3 months?"
We get this question a lot.
Today, I'll walk you through the reason step by step.

How is Revive different from
other skin boosters?
Revive is a treatment that directly places low-molecular hyaluronic acid into the dermis
to expand the skin's moisture reservoir.
If Rejuran works by encouraging regeneration,
Revive is closer to physically
filling in the skin texture.
So it tends to bring out radiance quickly, but
Rejuran provides stronger regenerative stimulation.

Why does the glow fade after 3 months
even though it's said to last 6 months?
Dr. Wi Young-jin's key insight
Because Revive places hyaluronic acid
directly in the dermis,
its duration is longer than Rejuran's.
The average duration is 6–9 months, but the glow effect is clearest at the 3-month mark
and then gradually declines.
You can think of Revive as similar to letting a dry sponge soak up water.
At first the glow is clear, but over time
the ingredients are slowly broken down in the body.
"6-month duration" refers to the time until the ingredients
fully disappear,
and the "glow peak" is the point at which it is most distinct at the 3-month mark.
The peak is at 3 months, then it gradually declines from 4–5 months,
with a curve that returns almost to the starting state around 6–9 months.
There are also big differences by area:
the eye area and mouth area last 5–6 months,
while static areas such as the forehead and cheeks last
8–9 months.
People with thin, dry skin tend to absorb it faster, so
even with the same amount,
it tends to last a month or two less.
A 46-year-old client who came in last month also said at the 3-month mark,
"This is when it feels best," and then came back at the 5-month mark.
She said it was gradually not quite as good as before,
so we scheduled a retreatment.
Injection depth is also important:
too superficial, and it breaks down quickly,
and too deep, and the radiance is less noticeable.
Evenly distributing it through the mid-dermis is
the key point for achieving both longevity and radiance.
Dr. Wi Young-jin's key summary
Revive's duration averages 6–9 months,
but the glow is clearest at 3 months.
After that it gradually declines, so the feeling that the glow is fading
does not mean the effect has disappeared.
How you time the retreatment
determines the cumulative effect that follows.
Revive duration:
which category are you closest to?
Type | Average duration | Glow peak | Recommended retreatment |
Dry, thin skin | 5–6 months | 2–3 months | 4–5 months |
Normal skin | 6–9 months | 3 months | 5–6 months |
Eye area·mouth area | 5–6 months | 2–3 months | 4 months |
Forehead·cheeks | 8–9 months | 3–4 months | 6 months |
If you want to extend the longevity even more, for the first 1–2 sessions,
it's better to build it up at 3–4 week intervals.
Only once you move from the buildup phase to the maintenance phase
will you truly feel that it "lasts a long time."
It is especially recommended for those with dull, lackluster skin, makeup that lifts,
or concerns about fine lines.
However, if volume loss is your main concern,
combining it with other treatments is much more efficient.
Three things patients
ask us most often in the clinic
Q1. Does one treatment really last 6 months?
In reality, fewer than half of patients see a 6-month effect
from a single treatment.
The first treatment is the settling-in stage, so the full duration appears after
2–3 sessions of buildup.
Q2. How should the retreatment interval be set?
Rather than at the 3-month glow peak, the right time is when you personally feel
the glow starting to fade, around
5–6 months.
If you come too late, we have to build it up again from the beginning,
which is less efficient, so please watch the signs closely.
Q3. Are there any side effects or precautions?
The ingredients themselves are safe, but if the injection is too superficial,
small nodules or marks can last for a few days.
For 2–3 days after the procedure, avoid saunas and alcohol,
and take extra care with moisturizing.
If you take away just one thing today,
— Revive is more about the glow peak you personally feel
than the number 6 months.
In the next article,
I'll go into more detail through real cases on
how to find the optimal timing for Revive retreatment.
