Skin booster cycles aren't all 4 weeks—here's why

Skin booster cycles aren't all 4 weeks—here's why

Not all skin booster intervals are 4 weeks. Rejuran HB is 2 weeks, ReVive 3 months—HA vs PN matters.

스킨부스터의 진실: 모든 제품을 4주 간격으로 맞으면 손해인 이유

Why you'll lose out if you assume all skin booster intervals are 4 weeks

Skin booster intervals,

and why getting them all as if they're 4 weeks apart can be a mistake

Let's start with the conclusion.

Skin boosters are not all given at 4-week intervals.

Depending on the product, the recovery cycle itself differs: 2 weeks, 1 month, or 3 months.

That's because the recovery cycle itself is different.

I'll explain why in this article.

리바이브 3개월 주기를 무시하고 매달 맞으면? 효과는 그대로, 비용만 3배 버립니다

Skin boosters all look similar, right?

But in fact

A skin booster is a procedure that injects active ingredients directly

into the dermis to boost hydration, elasticity, and regeneration.

That's what it does.

So far they all seem similar,

but depending on whether the ingredient is HA (hyaluronic acid)

PN (polynucleotide)

or a collagen inducer (PLLA·PCL),

the time it takes for the skin to absorb

and respond is completely different.

The real reason skin booster intervals

differ by product

Director Wi Young-jin's

key insight

Skin boosters are not all 4 weeks —

Rejuran HB is 2 weeks,

Sculptra·Juvelook are 1 month,

Revive·Skinvive are 3 months.

Because depending on what the product contains,

the time the skin needs to recover and respond

is different.

"Get ○○ skin booster once every 4 weeks"

You've heard this so often, right?

In fact, some products are the exact opposite.

For some, waiting 4 weeks is actually too late,

and for others, getting another shot at 4 weeks is too soon.

The key is how the ingredient works inside

the skin.

In PN+HA combination formulations like Rejuran HB,

fragments of salmon DNA stimulate cellular regeneration,

and that stimulation runs through one cycle in about 2 weeks.

So in the beginning, you need 3 to 4 sessions

at 2-week intervals so the regeneration signal doesn't get interrupted.

By contrast, products like Sculptra·Juvelook,

which are collagen-inducing agents, are different.

The injected PLLA or PCL particles

slowly break down in the skin

and trigger new collagen production,

and this process takes at least 4 weeks.

If you inject again before a month has passed,

the collagen-creation signals overlap,

which actually increases the risk of nodules.

High-molecular HA boosters like Revive or Skinvive

are different again.

Once injected, they hold moisture in the dermis

for about 3 months.

That's why the recommended interval is 3 months.

There's no reason to get it again after just one month.

Director Wi Young-jin's key summary

Skin booster intervals are not determined by a formula of "4 weeks,"

but by "what's in the product, and

how many days it takes the skin to process it"

and that is what decides it.

Rejuran HB 2 weeks, collagen inducer 1 month,

high-molecular HA 3 months.

If you remember just these three,

you won't lose out.

There was a similar patient in today's clinic as well.

A 39-year-old client came in and said

"I got Revive a month ago,

and I'm here to get it again today."

They said that was the guidance they received at another clinic.

But in this case, I refused the procedure.

Revive was still remaining in the dermis,

and if you add more after just a month,

only the dose becomes excessive and

the effect stays the same.

I told them, "Please come back in 3 months;

right now, it's time for your skin to make full use of

what it has absorbed"

and sent them back.

But even if you follow the interval exactly,

not everyone will be satisfied.

Depending on skin thickness, metabolism, and lifestyle patterns,

the product schedule may need to be adjusted by ±1 to 2 weeks.

The 3 things clients really ask about most often,

I'll answer honestly

Q1. If I break the interval and get it a bit late,

does the effect disappear?

A. "Interrupted" is more accurate than "disappears."

Especially for regeneration-stimulating types like Rejuran HB,

the 2-week interval is key; if you leave it for more than a month,

the signal received by the cells cools off.

You have to build it up again from the beginning.

By contrast, with Revive, even if you get it every 6 months,

it's not a big loss. It's meant more as a late replenishment.

Q2. Don't more expensive products need to be injected more often

for faster results?

A. This is something many people misunderstand,

price and interval are almost unrelated.

In fact, the more expensive products (Revive·Skinvive)

have the longest intervals.

That's because they are designed so a larger amount

works for a longer time in one shot.

Q3. If I get it earlier than the recommended interval,

will side effects occur?

A. You really need to be careful

with collagen inducer products.

If you inject Sculptra·Juvelook again within 4 weeks,

new particles overlap with the previously injected particles

while they are still breaking down.

I've seen quite a few cases of nodules (small lumps) form

in the clinic at that point.

Please be sure to keep the safety margin.

If you take just one thing away today —

for skin boosters, set the interval not by "the cycle,"

but by "the time the ingredients work."

In the next post,

'after 3 to 4 Rejuran HB sessions at 2-week intervals,

how to extend it in the maintenance phase'

I'll explain.

This has been Wi Young-jin.
