1. Beard laser hair removal: how does it work?

You may be tired of hearing this so much,

but the principle of laser hair removal is delivering laser energy to dark pigment

to selectively destroy stem cells. There are stem cells at the end of beard follicles.

These stem cells must be damaged by thermal energy.

Men’s beards are thick and deep,

so energy often doesn’t reach well,

and this is the key core of beard laser hair removal.

GenMAX PPL (GentleMax Pro Plus)

has both Alexandrite (755nm)

and Nd:YAG (1064nm) wavelengths equipped.

For thick hair, you should use 1064nm. It’s in the infrared range,

and infrared penetrates deep into the skin. (used in orthopedic treatment)

2. How many sessions are needed to see results? Beard hair-removal sessions and indications

Based on clinical studies,

for beard hair removal, around 6–10 sessions is the basic recommended number on average.

Why do you need this many?

Because only a small number of hairs are targets for the laser.

Good candidates for beard hair removal

you should do 1064nm hair removal..

3. Beard laser hair removal: precautions and honest limitations

To be honest first, beard laser hair removal does not work equally well for everyone.

If your hair color is light (including blond or white beard), it doesn’t work well.

That’s because the less melanin pigment there is, the fewer laser targets there are.

According to guidelines, avoid direct sun exposure for 2 weeks before and after treatment haha.

It’s important for preventing side effects (hyperpigmentation, burns).

On the treatment day, we apply numbing cream and proceed after 30–40 minutes, so pain is reduced much more than expected.

Still, there is more pain than people expect, so honestly everyone gets surprised haha.

Right after treatment, redness or mild swelling may occur,

but in most cases it subsides within a few hours.

Rarely, temporary pigment changes may occur,

so moisturizing and sun protection after treatment are important.
