A lifting device that focuses ultrasound (HIFU) at 1.5, 2.0, 3.0, and 4.5mm under the skin. For areas with little fat under the skin, the depth and energy are set separately at the exam.

Many people worry that areas with little fat under the skin, like the cheeks, will look hollow. So we set the design with your doctor before treatment.
The design sets where on the face, at which depth, and how the shots are divided. Areas with little fat get their own depth and energy, and the treatment follows that plan.

Focused ultrasound
Ultrasound is focused at a set depth under the skin to create small points of thermal coagulation. The surface of the skin is not cut.

How we decide
Even with the same Shurink,
we do not use it the same way twice.
When the device is the same, the difference comes from where, at what depth, and how much. We split that judgment into three steps and keep a record.

How are MP mode and standard mode different?
Standard (Dot) mode leaves gaps between heat points, while MP mode places them densely without gaps. Based on the manufacturer information, MP mode runs faster than standard mode. Which mode we use is decided at the exam.
Who it fits
Is Shurink right for everyone?
No.
Each lifting device handles different concerns well. Getting all of them is not the default.

What to know before treatment
If any of these apply to you, please tell us at your consultation.
A dull feeling can last a few days
The treated area and your temples can feel achy or dull for a few days. Let us know if it continues or gets worse.

These can occur, rarely, where the energy was delivered. Tell us right away during treatment if it feels hot or painful.

Shurink, frequently asked questions
How are Shurink and Ultherapy different?
Both use focused ultrasound, but they work differently. Ultherapy Prime works with ultrasound imaging to see the layers under the skin, while Shurink Universe works with cartridges at set depths. Which one fits is decided by how deep the sagging is.
Comparison columnHow many shots do I need?
Where it goes comes first. Once the area and depth are set, the shot count follows. More is not better.
Shot count columnDoes it hurt?
You may feel stinging or an achy pressure, and how much differs by area and person. If pain worries you, tell us at the consultation.
Can I have it on the same day as square jaw Botox?
There are rules for the order and the interval. Whether they can be done on the same day is decided at the exam.
