"Cheap Botox in Hongdae?" — Yesterday's Question
Hongdae Botox & Filler: before price, check authentic product registration and injection depth.

"Doctor, there are lots of cheap places in Hapjeong
Can I go there?"
— A question I got again yesterday
Last Friday,
a professional in their early 30s came in.
They work near Hapjeong,
and there are so many Botox and filler promotions near the office
that they said it was confusing.
"What's different between the 30,000-won one and the 150,000-won one"
they asked,
and honestly I hear this question at least ten times a month.

Here's what is actually different
Botox is an injectable that temporarily
relaxes muscles.
It's used to reduce muscle-based volume such as
wrinkles, square jaw, or calves.
Unlike filler, Botox is
a treatment that doesn't 'fill' but 'reduce'.
Filler uses substances like hyaluronic acid
to fill in sunken areas, and
Botox blocks muscle signals to reduce volume.

Why, in the same Hapjeong area
do prices differ by 5x?
Not all Botox is the same.
There are over 10 toxin products approved in Korea.
A patient who came last month got glabella Botox through
a 20,000-won promotion,
but even after 2 weeks there was no effect at all.
Botox dosage is measured in unit,
and the standard dose for the glabella is usually around 20 units.
But in 20,000-won low-price promotions,
they may inject only 4 to 5 units, so
it’s no wonder there’s no effect.
The same goes for filler.
Even the cost of genuine hyaluronic acid filler at 1cc
is already in the tens of thousands of won.
If the price is too cheap, it ultimately means they may be
splitting the dosage or using unapproved products.
Director Wiyoungjin's key summary
When getting Botox or filler in Hapjeong,
check just three things.
Whether they specify the product name and unit or cc amount
Whether the product barcode and authenticity registration are possible
Whether the director designs and injects it personally

Consultation type guide
Type | Recommended treatment | Check point |
Concern about expression wrinkles | Botox first | unit specified, lasts 3–4 months |
Concern about volume loss | Filler first | Check product name and cc |
Square jaw·calves | High-dose Botox | 50–100 unit range recommended |
Botox varies by person, and some people can develop resistance,
while filler can cause side effects like vascular compression if injected incorrectly.
.
So for the first treatment, I don’t go to the maximum dose;
I start at about 70 to 80%
and then make adjustments two weeks later.
Frequently Asked Questions FAQ
Q1. Botox and filler,
can they be done on the same day?
Yes, as long as the areas are different.
Many people do them together, such as Botox for the glabella, filler for the nasolabial folds.
.
Q2. How long do the results last?
Botox lasts on average 3 to 4 months,
and filler lasts from 6 months to
as long as 1.5 years depending on the product.
Q3. What about side effects or precautions?
Avoid saunas and alcohol on the day of the procedure,
and after Botox it’s best not to
lie down for about 4 hours.
I’ll continue with more in-depth discussion in the next article.
