Rejuran Healer Glow: What Changes by Week 6?

Rejuran Healer doesn't inject water. In one study, outer-skin hydration roughly doubled by week 6, while elasticity didn't change. Here's what to expect.

Rejuran Healer doesn't make skin dewy by injecting water. It changes how well the outer layer of your skin holds on to moisture, and that shift builds over weeks. In a 25-person study, hydration in the outer skin roughly doubled on the Rejuran side by week 6, so the glow is something you judge after a few weeks, not the next morning.

That's also why it feels different from a hyaluronic acid ‘water glow’ shot. Below, we'll walk through how Rejuran works, what the 6-week numbers showed (and what didn't change), how sessions are usually spaced, and which reactions are normal.

Quick summary

  • Rejuran Healer's glow comes from the outer skin holding moisture better over several weeks.

  • On the Rejuran side, outer-skin hydration rose from 23.42 to 48.19 at 6 weeks.

  • Over the same 6 weeks, skin thickness and elasticity didn't differ from the untreated side.

  • 3 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart was the most commonly recommended schedule.

Is Rejuran Healer a Hydrating Shot That Adds Water to Your Skin?

No. Rejuran Healer delivers PN, a polynucleotide ingredient taken from salmon, to help set up conditions in which your skin can repair itself. A filler fills a spot on the day; with Rejuran, the skin itself changes slowly, so you need to give it time. What you notice first, right after the injections, are small raised bumps and some swelling, and those settle down over a few days.

*PN (polynucleotide): purified DNA fragments, in this case taken from salmon.

‘Rejuran Healer’ is the name most clinics use for the standard Rejuran product, which is 2 mL of PN. Rejuran HB is a different product that also contains hyaluronic acid and lidocaine, so it's worth confirming which one you're getting. Our guide to Rejuran HB vs. Rejuran Healer covers how to choose between them.

Rejuran isn't FDA-approved in the US. In Korea, it's authorized by the MFDS (Korea's drug and medical device regulator) as a medical device for temporarily improving facial wrinkles.

Two halves of a face compared six weeks after treatment, one side looking more hydrated

How Much Did Skin Hydration Change 6 Weeks After Rejuran?

The clearest numbers come from a split-face study. 25 women had fractional needle radiofrequency on the whole face, and right after it, one side got 2 mL of Rejuran through a cannula while the other side got 2 mL of saline. Skin was measured before treatment and again at 6 weeks.

On the Rejuran side, hydration in the outermost skin layer went up sharply, and the amount of water escaping through the skin dropped by more than half. The saline side rose only a little, not enough to count as a clear change, and its water loss stayed about the same.

So the dewy feeling showed up first at the surface. The deeper layer's thickness and elasticity didn't change within those 6 weeks. Keep in mind that Rejuran was given right after a radiofrequency treatment here, so the result can't be taken as what Rejuran does on its own. How much you notice depends on your skin.

Calendar with three sessions marked four weeks apart

How Many Rejuran Healer Sessions, and How Far Apart?

Most plans start with 3 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart. In a survey of 235 Korean doctors, that was the schedule recommended most often for PN injections, and dry skin was among the six areas they used PN for most.

Many of those doctors used a fine 33G needle and lots of small pricks aimed at the dermis (the deeper layer of skin under the surface). A single session isn't likely to look dramatic. Fortunately, there's an easy way to track it: take photos in the same light and from the same angle between sessions, and the change in glow is much easier to compare for yourself.

*Dermis: the thick layer of skin beneath the surface layer, where collagen sits.

Shorter or longer gaps aren't wrong in themselves, but they make your before and after photos harder to compare, so it helps to agree on the schedule before the first session.

Small raised bumps at injection points on the cheek a few hours after treatment

Rejuran Bumps and Side Effects: What's Normal and What Isn't?

On the day, you'll see small raised bumps at each injection point, plus some swelling. Those bumps settle down over a few days. That's when you start judging how dewy your skin looks, not before.

Get medical care right away, without waiting to see if it settles, if you notice any of these*:

*Based on US FDA guidance for injectable dermal fillers.

  • Skin near the injection site turning white, gray, or blue

  • Unusual pain

  • Vision changes (go to the nearest emergency room)

  • Sudden difficulty speaking, numbness or weakness in your face, arms, or legs, difficulty walking, face drooping, severe headache, dizziness, or confusion (go to the nearest emergency room)

These signs can show up during the injection or shortly after it. If bumps haven't gone down after several days, or they turn red, painful, or warm, have them checked.

It's better to hold off on treatment in these cases:

  • The skin you'd be treating is inflamed or infected (wait until it heals)

  • You have a bleeding disorder

  • You have severe allergies or a history of anaphylaxis

  • You're allergic to a local anesthetic such as lidocaine

Traveler checking a calendar and phone photos before a flight home from Seoul

Rejuran Healer on a Trip to Seoul: Bumps, Flights, and Timing

Unless you had sedation that day, there's no need to postpone your flight because of Rejuran Healer. The bumps are most visible in the first few days, so if photos matter on your trip, plan around that window.

It also helps to know what one visit can do. Some treatments, like fillers, change your shape the same day. Rejuran works gradually instead, and the usual plan is a series of sessions about 4 weeks apart, so one trip usually covers one step of it.

Once you're home, you can send photos through the consultation button on this page if something concerns you. If you notice skin color changes, unusual pain, or changes in your vision, see a local doctor or emergency room first rather than waiting for a reply.

Plan photos around the bumps

The Bottom Line: Agree on When You'll Judge the Glow

The number worth carrying into your consultation is 6 weeks: that's when the hydration change in the study was measured. Comparing photos from about 6 weeks after your last session with your starting photos is a fair way to judge the glow.

Before you decide, ask: for my skin, how many sessions, how many weeks apart, and when should we judge the result? Like any procedure, it comes with trade-offs, and the choice depends on your skin, your goals, and your schedule.
