Your total melasma laser cost depends more on how many sessions you need than on the price of one session. Laser toning studies used 5 to 15 sessions, most often around 9 to 10, spaced 1 to 2 weeks apart. If your melasma also has a red, vascular side, a V Laser for blood vessels gets added, and that changes the plan again.
It's natural to compare clinics by the cheapest single session. That number rarely matches what you'll have spent a few months later. In this article, we'll cover why session prices differ, which laser fits which kind of melasma, what the packages add up to, how many sessions to expect, and which reactions to report before your next visit.
Quick summary
Your total is the session price times the number of sessions, plus a vascular laser if your melasma has a red side.
Sessions: toning studies used 5 to 15 sessions, usually 9 to 10, every 1 to 2 weeks.
On our price list, Helios Pico Toning starts at ₩195,000 and V Laser at ₩290,000 (VAT excluded).
With daily sunscreen and medication, visible results usually take 3 to 12 months.
Melasma Laser Treatment Cost: Why Do Session Prices Vary So Much?
A session price reflects which laser is used, how many passes it makes, and whether a soothing care step is bundled in. Two clinics can both call it "toning" and still use different machines and add-ons. Lining up single-session prices side by side often means comparing two different plans.
Melasma isn't erased in one sitting. It's lightened gradually with low-energy passes over many visits. That's why a cheap session can still become the bigger total once the session count grows, while a pricier session sold as a package can end up close in total.
The type of laser matters for value, too. When 6 randomized trials of picosecond (pico) lasers were pooled, the 1064nm wavelength lowered melasma scores. The 755nm wavelength did no better than a lightening cream and caused darker marks after inflammation in some people. So when a quote says "pico," it's fair to ask which wavelength the clinic means.

Which Laser Fits Your Melasma: Toning, Pico or V Laser?
If your melasma looks purely brown, toning or pico toning is usually the main tool. If your cheeks also look flushed or you can see fine vessels through the skin, the melasma may have a vascular component. In a study of 50 Korean women with melasma, the patches had more and larger blood vessels than the skin around them, and they looked redder.
In that case, I think about pairing a pigment laser with the V Laser, which targets blood vessels. Our promotion page lists V Laser modes for redness and for pigment separately for this reason. Photos alone can't settle which type you have. I check skin color and vessels in person before a plan is set.
Mostly brown, even patches: toning or pico toning as the core
Brown patches with redness or visible vessels: a pigment laser plus a V Laser
Melasma that darkened after past laser: calming the skin first, before adding sessions
Keep in mind that the same plan can work differently on two people. How much fades depends on your skin.

Pico Toning Price and V Laser Packages: What Does It Add Up To?
Single-session prices come from our public price list, and packages come from the promotion page. Price list amounts exclude VAT and are as of September 8, 2026. Promotion prices exclude VAT and run from September 1 to November 30, 2026. This is Seoul clinic pricing, and it's subject to change.

Laser Full Course (RevLite Toning 10 sessions + V Laser Full Mode 3 sessions) | ₩1,590,000 | Promotion, Sep 1 to Nov 30, 2026 |
Vascular melasma 6-week package | ₩1,290,000 | Promotion, Sep 1 to Nov 30, 2026 |
What's inside each package differs by name. Some package names don't spell out every step, so check the promotion page for the full contents before you compare. Bundled packages lower the per-session cost, but they only make sense once the number of sessions you need is clear. For a session-by-session breakdown of toning on its own, see our melasma toning cost guide.

Laser Toning for Melasma: How Many Sessions Should You Plan For?
Plan for a course, not a single visit. Across a review of 42 low-energy toning studies, toning alone ran 5 to 15 sessions, most often 9 to 10, usually 1 to 2 weeks apart. Studies that stopped at 6 sessions saw smaller drops in melasma scores, and scores tended to keep falling as sessions were added.
That doesn't mean more is always better. Spacing sets the limit. Sessions packed too close let energy build up in the skin, while gaps that are too long give color a chance to creep back between visits. That's why most of those studies stayed near 1 to 2 weeks.
Results differ from person to person. Sun exposure between sessions and any vascular side to your melasma both change how far the same session count gets you.

Melasma Laser Side Effects: What Happens If Sessions Are Too Close?
Too many sessions, too close together, can leave blotchy white spots where the energy has built up. Light, faint redness right after a session is the reaction toning aims for. The changes below are different.
Tell the clinic before your next session if you notice any of these:
Patchy white spots on or around the melasma
Melasma that looks darker than before the session
Redness and stinging that last until your next appointment
Aggressive settings can inflame the skin and make melasma darker, and darker skin tones are more prone to this. If you see these changes, it's time to pause the course and reset the energy and spacing. If you notice blisters, oozing, spreading redness or worsening pain, seek medical care right away.

Fitting Melasma Laser Into Your Travel Schedule
Unless you've had sedation that day, there's no need to postpone your flight home after a melasma laser session.
It also helps to know what one visit can do. Some treatments, such as fillers, change your shape the same day. Most others work gradually, bringing skin closer to how it used to look rather than changing it all at once. Melasma lasers belong to the gradual group, and one visit doesn't replace the sessions a course usually takes.
Once you're home, you can send us photos through the consultation button if you have questions about how your skin is settling. If something changes sharply, such as white patches spreading or skin turning painful and swollen, see a local doctor first rather than waiting for a reply.
The Bottom Line: Read 3 Lines on Your Melasma Quote
Before you sign up for a package, ask how many days apart the sessions will be. That one answer tells you whether the price fits a realistic course. Then check that your quote names the laser, lists the number of sessions, and says whether a vascular laser is included.
Like any procedure, melasma laser comes with trade-offs. The right mix depends on whether your melasma is purely brown or partly red, and on how your skin reacts to the first sessions.
Beautystone is a clinic in Seoul's Hapjeong area, and you can reach us through the consultation button on this page. In your first message, include a photo of your melasma taken in natural light and how many laser sessions you've had before.
