Ultherapy results usually take several weeks to show. Studies have checked them at around day 90, and how long they hold differs from one area of the face to another. That's why a photo taken about 3 months after treatment, in the same light and at the same angle as your first one, is the most useful check you have.
The tight, lifted feeling on the day of treatment is mostly swelling and warmth, and it eases as the swelling settles. In this article, you'll see what day 90 and day 180 measurements found, why the jawline is scored differently from the brows, and how a 3-month photo helps you plan what comes next.
How Long Does Ultherapy Take to Work?
Plan to judge Ultherapy at around 3 months, with the change building gradually before then. In an early study of 35 adults treated once on the face and neck, results were judged from photos taken at day 90. By that point, 30 of the 35 were judged to have a raised brow, and the average change in brow height across all 35 was 1.7 mm. Their median age was 44.
So if a month has passed and you don't see much, it's too soon to decide the treatment didn't work. The fuller, tighter look in the first days comes from swelling, and it fades on its own. Results differ from person to person, which is why your own 3-month photo tells you more than any average.

Why Do Ultherapy Results Build Over Weeks?
Ultherapy places tiny heat points beneath the skin, in the deep dermis and in the SMAS (superficial musculoaponeurotic system), a thin, firm layer that sits under the fat. As those spots heal, the tissue around them firms up, and that repair takes weeks.

Ultherapy Prime works on the same principle: the tissue rebuilds over time, and firmness follows. It's also why a mirror check on day one can mislead you. A face that looks lifted from swelling may seem to drop later on, and that's simply the swelling going down.
The same process explains what Ultherapy doesn't do. Heat points tighten tissue, but they don't add volume. If a hollow or deflated area is part of what bothers you, the doctor can look at sagging and volume separately in your photos and tell you which part fits a lifting plan.

How Long Does Ultherapy Last? What Day 180 Showed
How long Ultherapy lasts depends on the area, and one measured group shows why there's no single number. A study that followed 25 Asian adults after 800 lines on the face and neck used 3D imaging to track the change:
Before treatment: a 3D scan set the starting point
Day 90: brow height up 0.47 mm on average, and the clearest change was under the chin
Day 180: brow height 0.12 mm below the start, close to where it began, and the change under the chin had narrowed so much that it no longer stood out as a clear difference
Keep in mind that this was one small group, and your face may follow a different pattern. Brows and the area under the chin didn't move the same way, so it's more accurate to check each area in your own photos than to count on a number of months or years.

How Do You Compare Ultherapy Results at 3 Months?
Compare a photo from before treatment with one taken about 3 months later, under the same conditions. The setup matters as much as your face does. Lifting your chin a little can tidy the area under the jaw, and a change in light can draw shadows that look like a sharper jawline.
The same room and the same light, with no window behind you
The same distance between your phone and your face
A neutral expression, from the front and from each side
The same time of day, so daylight shifts less
Brows are easy to measure because they sit near fixed points like the eyes. The lower face has no fixed landmark, so a jawline change is hard to measure as a length. It's judged with sagging grades or with matched photos.
Where you start also shapes what you can expect. In a group of 30 Asian adults treated with Ultherapy Prime on the lower face and neck, jawline and neck sagging were scored at day 90. Among those whose sagging started out moderate or worse (12 at the neck, 9 at the jawline), the sagging score had dropped by at least one grade by then. Among the 18 with mild neck sagging, 14 (77.8%) had improved. That was a small group, and how much you see depends on your skin. Asking at your consultation which grade your sagging is now tells you which areas to look at in 3 months.

When Should You Repeat Ultherapy?
A common approach is to review your photos about 3 months after the first session and decide then whether to add more. Put the photo from before your first treatment next to the 3-month one, and look for the areas where sagging remains.
A second plan can focus on just those areas, which may mean fewer lines than the first time. Fading day-one tightness isn't a reason to book another session right away. That fading is the swelling going down while the slower change is still forming.
If you hope to keep results going over time, save dated photos from each round. Lined up together, they show the doctor which areas held and which slipped, and that's what sets the timing of the next visit.

Ultherapy Downtime on a Trip: Flights and Photos
Redness and swelling are common on the day of treatment and usually pass. Blisters, oozing, or skin that breaks open into a sore aren't part of normal healing. If you notice any of these, take a clear photo and contact the clinic right away. Never pop a blister.
There's no need to postpone your flight home because of Ultherapy, unless you had sedation that day. Photos are a separate question. With around 300 shots or fewer, swelling usually doesn't show much on camera, so sightseeing pictures tend to work out. With a larger plan, mention your photo-heavy days when you book.
It also helps to know what a single visit can do. Some treatments, like filler, change shape the same day. Ultherapy usually works gradually, bringing your face a little closer to how it used to look, so the change worth judging tends to arrive after you've flown home.
Once you're home, you can send your 3-month photos through the clinic's consultation channel. If a reaction is strong or spreading, see a local doctor first.
The Bottom Line: Pick Your 3-Month Check Now
The detail worth settling before treatment is the comparison point: which areas will be checked at 3 months, and whether each one is judged by a sagging grade or by matched photos. Agree on that at the consultation, and your 3-month photo has a specific question to answer.
Like any procedure, Ultherapy comes with trade-offs, and the choice depends on your face and your goals. When you reach out, include:
The dates of your stay in Seoul
Any lifting treatment you've had before, and roughly when
A recent photo from the front and from each side, in even light
How the device works is covered on our Ultherapy Prime page. Beautystone is a clinic in Seoul's Hapjeong area.
