Hand & Foot Botox: Less Effective Over Time?
Coretox suits hand/foot hyperhidrosis: low resistance risk, effective for repeat long-term use.

Hand and foot hyperhidrosis Botox,

the less effective it becomes
Is that true?

Q. Hyperhidrosis Botox, the more you get it
the less effective it gets—is that true?
A. With regular Botox formulations,
effect may decrease with repeated treatments due to antibody formation.
Coretox removes complex proteins
and uses only pure toxin, so the risk of antibody formation is low.
For hyperhidrosis, which requires periodic management,
Coretox is a better fit
for exactly this reason.
Q. Does Botox treatment for hand and foot hyperhidrosis
actually work?
A. Yes, because it acts on the
nerve endings that directly control the sweat glands,
its effect is clear.
However, since it is not permanent,
periodic repeat treatments are necessary.
Key points of this article
Hyperhidrosis treatment that suppresses sweating
requires periodic management, so
Coretox, which raises less concern about resistance,
becomes an effective alternative.

What is Coretox?
Coretox (Coretox, manufactured by Medytox)
is a formulation in which
all complex proteins have been removed from the existing Botox formula.
It is a purified botulinum toxin product
that contains only the pure botulinum toxin ingredient.
Unlike existing formulations, which include
unnecessary proteins in addition to the toxin,
Coretox is characterized by structurally lowering
the possibility of antibody formation.

Why does 'resistance'
really become a problem in hyperhidrosis?
To be honest, when many people
come in seeking hyperhidrosis treatment,
they focus only on "how long the effect lasts."
But the practical problem I encounter in practice
is the complaint that the duration
gradually gets shorter.
The tricky part is that at first it clearly
works well, but as it is repeated, even if the dose is increased,
many people say it is not the same as before.
When the complex proteins attached to existing formulations
enter the body repeatedly, our bodies
begin to make antibodies.
As antibodies accumulate, they neutralize the toxin itself,
so the treatment no longer works.
Hyperhidrosis is, structurally,
a treatment that requires repeated procedures.
Usually, sweating returns after 4 to 8 months,
so it is a treatment that must be repeated for years.
The reason Coretox becomes an effective alternative
is that it removes complex proteins to reduce antibody formation,
helping repeated treatments last longer.
Director Wi Young-jin's key summary
Hyperhidrosis treatment does not end with one session.
Because it is a treatment that must be repeated for years,
it is important to choose a formulation that produces fewer antibodies.
Choosing a product with less concern about resistance from the start
is a much wiser long-term strategy.
Coretox has a high possibility of maintaining
its effect for a long time even with repeated treatments.

Coretox vs
Regular botulinum toxin formulations
Item | Coretox | Regular botulinum toxin formulation |
Contains complex proteins | Removed (pure toxin) | Included |
Risk of antibody formation | Relatively low | May accumulate with repeated use |
Suitability for repeated procedures | High | Concern about resistance over the long term |
Onset time | Within 2 to 7 days | Within 2 to 7 days |
Duration | Average 4 to 8 months | Average 4 to 6 months |

Hand and foot hyperhidrosis, how
is the procedure performed?
It depends on the case, but
this is usually how I do it.
We identify the areas with heavy sweating through tests.
Using an iodine-starch reaction test,
when the sweating area turns purple,
we divide that area into a grid and inject it evenly.
However, the palms and soles are sensitive,
so the injections themselves can be quite painful.
That is why we make full use of cooling anesthesia, vibration anesthesia devices,
and local anesthetic creams
to reduce discomfort.
Many people who did not get results elsewhere
were satisfied with the duration after getting Coretox
at our clinic.
Frequently asked questions
Q1. Can underarm hyperhidrosis also be treated with Coretox?
Yes, it can.
The underarms are much less painful than the hands and feet,
and they also require repeated management.
Q2. How much does it cost, and how often should it be done?
The hands and feet require a larger dose,
so the cost is higher than for the underarms.
The usual interval for repeat treatment is between 4 and 8 months.
Q3. Are there any side effects or precautions after treatment?
Temporary bruising or swelling may occur, but
it usually subsides within 2 to 5 days.
On the day of treatment, you should avoid strenuous activity.
