Juvelook·
Sculptra·Radiesse,
Did you think they were all the same fillers
?
Hello, this is Wi Youngjin from Beautystone Clinic in Hongdae.

Q. I heard all three are "collagen-stimulating fillers,"
then wouldn’t any of them
give similar results?
A. Even when used in the same area, the choice of product changes completely
depending on the desired effect and
the condition of the skin tissue.
Strategy comes before materials.
Q. Then what should I use as the 기준?
A. It depends on whether immediate volume is needed,
natural regeneration is the goal,
or structural support is needed.
"Even at the same MD code point, the choice of product changes
depending on the desired effect and tissue characteristics.
Strategy comes before materials."
— Director Wi Youngjin (Beautystone Clinic, Hongdae)

What are
collagen-stimulating fillers?
Collagen-stimulating fillers (Biostimulator Filler)
are injectable products that, unlike simple HA fillers that add volume,
stimulate the body’s collagen production
to improve the skin itself.
Rather than immediate volume, the focus is on
rebuilding the skin tissue over time.

Saying the three are
"all similar"
is only half right
To be honest, all three products
do belong to the same category in that they
induce "collagen stimulation."
But there is one important thing here.
Their mechanisms of action, texture, and duration are all different.
This difference completely determines
where they are used and
for what purpose.
👨⚕️ Director Wi Youngjin’s
key summary by product
1. Juvelook
It is a combination product made of PDLLA and HA.
It provides both collagen stimulation and
a hydrating filler effect at the same time.
It can also be applied to the superficial layers of the skin,
so it is used in delicate areas such as the eye area, forehead, and neck.
2. Sculptra
It is a PLLA-only product,
and because it breaks down slowly, its longevity is long.
It offers almost no immediate volume, but over 3 to 6 months
it gradually builds up
for natural volume restoration.
3. Radiesse
It contains calcium (CaHA) and has a firm texture.
Its strong structural support makes it suitable for areas that need bone-structure correction,
such as the jawline contour or
the area under the cheekbones.

Why
strategy comes before materials
This is a point many people misunderstand,
but the idea that "one product is better"
is almost meaningless in this field.
Even when addressing hollow temples,
if the skin is thin, choose Juvelook;
if laxity is the main issue, choose Sculptra;
and if structural support is needed, choose Radiesse.
In fact, at our clinic,
we design different products by layer
and use them in combination,
with a "layering strategy" that we often use.

❓ Frequently asked questions
Q1. Can all three be injected together at once?
Yes, that is possible. We often design different products by layer
and perform the procedure together.
However, for better management efficiency,
we may also take a step-by-step approach.
Q2. How many sessions are needed?
Sculptra is usually done as a series of 2 to 3 sessions,
and Juvelook and Radiesse often show results with just
1 to 2 sessions.
Q3. Are there side effects or precautions?
One thing I must mention is that
these products, unlike HA fillers,
do not have a dissolving injection.
That is why planning before the procedure is more important than anything else.
This has been Wi Youngjin.
