What I Learned From Seeing Them Firsthand

Causes of Juvelook Nodules & How to Manage Them

Hello.

I'm Dr. Wi Young-jin from Beautystone Clinic.

I've been getting this question

constantly through DMs,

so I want to give a proper answer.

"After my Juvelook treatment,

I can feel a lump under my skin."

This is the concern I keep hearing.

So many of you

have sent me

this exact message.

A few days after the procedure,

something feels palpable

beneath the skin.

Others describe it as

an uneven or bumpy

texture under the skin.

The confusion is —

is it an actual nodule,

or just temporary swelling?

Today, I'm going to break down

everything about

Juvelook nodules.

From why they happen

to how to handle them —

all in one place.

Juvelook Nodules —

What Exactly Are They?

Early vs. Delayed Juvelook Nodules: What's the Difference?

Juvelook is an injectable

that combines PDRN

and HA (Hyaluronic Acid).

It's designed to support skin regeneration.

The key thing to note here

is that it contains HA.

Hyaluronic Acid has a strong tendency

to draw in

surrounding moisture.

When it pools under the skin

and absorbs water, it can

form a localized lump.

That's exactly what

feels like a nodule

when you press the skin.

To be more precise,

nodules generally fall into

two categories.

1. Early Nodules

Appear within days of treatment.

Usually related to injection depth

or the amount injected.

2. Delayed Nodules

Appear weeks to months later.

Often accompanied by inflammation

or an immune response.

The causes differ between the two —

and so does

the approach to treatment.

Why Do Nodules Form?

The #1 DM Question: Let Me Answer Everything About Juvelook Nodules

Honestly, nodule formation

rarely comes down

to a single cause.

Here's what I see

in my practice,

broken down clearly.

1. Injection Depth Issues

The product must be delivered

precisely into the dermis.

Too shallow, and it clumps.

2. Over-injection at One Point

Too much product in one area

causes it to pool

and form a localized lump.

3. Individual Skin Sensitivity

Some skin types react

more strongly

to Hyaluronic Acid.

4. Pressure or Friction After Treatment

Pressing hard or massaging too aggressively

right after the procedure

can shift the product to one side.

Nodule or Not — How to Tell

Lumps or firmness felt

within 1–3 days post-treatment

are usually not true nodules.

It's most likely HA drawing in moisture,

causing a temporary

swollen appearance.

So here's the guideline

I give my patients.

1. A palpable lump

that's still present

2 weeks after treatment.

2. Pain when pressed,,

or redness of the skin

in that area.

3. The surface feels uneven or bumpy

When you look in the mirror,

it's visibly noticeable to the naked eye.

If even one of these three applies to you,

please get it checked at a clinic.

What to Do When a Nodule Forms

A nodule doesn't always mean

Dissolving Juvelook Nodules — Will the Regenerative Effects Disappear Too?

something serious has gone wrong.

Non-inflammatory nodules

can be dissolved quickly

with an enzyme injection.

Inflammatory nodules may require

antibiotics or a steroid injection.

Never squeeze it yourself

or massage it aggressively.

It will only make things worse.

For reference, the dissolving enzyme

does not affect the PDRN component.

If you're worried about losing

the regenerative benefits,

you can rest assured.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q. It's been 3 days and I feel a lump.

In the early stages, it's most likely

just swelling.

Wait about 2 weeks and monitor it.

Q. If it's dissolved, will the effects be gone too?

The HA may decrease,

but the PDRN remains

and continues to work.

Q. Is there a way to prevent nodules?

The injector's skill level matters greatly.

On the day of treatment, avoid

intense exercise and saunas.

Consult thoroughly before your procedure

and decide on the right amount

for your needs.

This has been Dr. Wi Young-jin.
