Juvelook nodules after treatment? Director explains why they form & how to treat them. Read now.

Hello.
I am Dr. Wi Young-jin from Beautystone Clinic.
To be honest, this story begins before we officially introduced the product,
when I performed the treatment on our chief manager
and a small nodule formed.
At our clinic, before introducing any new treatment,
Dr. Kim Ga-eul, our managers, and I always undergo the treatment ourselves first as a demonstration.
Our golden rule is that
we must experience it ourselves before recommending it to our valued patients.
Juvelook was no exception.
We all received the treatment to see how it felt and to check the entire procedure process.
But during the treatment,
the unique particles of Juvelook began to clog up the needle
from time to time.
At first, we brushed it off as a minor inconvenience that could happen during any procedure,
but that eventually became the issue. Our manager ended up getting a nodule.
From that moment on,
I thought, 'We can't just use this as it is, we need to find a solution.'
So, we began investigating and looking for the best way to handle it.
Many of you share this exact concern:
"I feel a small lump
after getting Juvelook."
More people than you might think
send me messages
with this exact worry.

Some say that even after several days,
they can still feel something
underneath their skin.
Others mention they feel
an uneven, bumpy
texture on their face.
And they find it hard to tell
whether it is a true nodule
or just temporary swelling.
In this post,
we are going to dive deep
into the topic of Juvelook nodules.
From why they happen
to how we can manage them,
I will explain everything clearly.
Juvelook Nodules,
What exactly are they?

Juvelook is an injectable treatment
that combines PDRN
and HA (hyaluronic acid).
While these ingredients regenerate your skin,
the key thing to remember
is that it contains HA.
Hyaluronic acid has a strong properties
of drawing in moisture
from its surroundings.
If it pools under the skin
and absorbs moisture, it can cause
a localized, bumpy clump.
This is what we feel with our hands
and perceive as
a nodule.
To categorize them accurately,
it is best to divide them
into two main categories.
1. Early-onset Nodules
These occur within several days post-treatment,
usually due to injection depth
or the volume injected.
2. Late-onset Nodules
These appear weeks or months later
and are typically accompanied by
an inflammatory or immune response.
These two have different causes
and require completely different
approaches to manage.
Classification | Early-onset Nodules | Late-onset Nodules |
|---|---|---|
Onset | Right after treatment to a few days | A few weeks to a few months late |
Main Cause | Injection volume, clumping, pressure | Inflammation, foreign body reaction |
Typical Course | Absorbed within 1–2 weeks | May require treatment |
Management | Massage, observation | Medical evaluation at the clinic |
Why do nodules form?

Honestly speaking,
there isn't just one single reason
why nodules form.
Let me break it down based on
the typical cases I encounter
in my consultation room.
1. Injection Depth Issues
The product needs to be injected
precisely into the dermis.
If injected too shallow, it can clump up.
2. Excessive Volume in One Spot
If too much volume is injected
into a single point, that specific area
will experience localized clumping.
3. Individual Skin Sensitivity
Some skin types are naturally
more sensitive and reactive
to hyaluronic acid.
4. Post-Treatment Pressure or Friction
Pressing too hard or giving an excessive
massage right after the treatment
can cause the product to shift and gather in one spot.
How to tell if it's a nodule or not
Most of the swelling or clumping
you feel within 1 to 3 days post-treatment
is actually NOT a nodule.
It is highly likely to be a temporary
puffy appearance caused by
hyaluronic acid drawing in moisture.
That is why I give our patients
the following checklist to help them out.
1. Even after 2 weeks,
the felt lump
still remains.
2. It hurts when pressed,
or is accompanied by red, irritated
skin symptoms.
3. The surface looks uneven or bumpy,
and the bumps are clearly visible
when you look in the mirror.
If you experience even one of these three,
you should definitely visit the clinic
to have it checked.
What to do if a nodule forms

Just because a nodule has formed,
it doesn't mean something
terrible has gone wrong.
In the case of non-inflammatory nodules,
we can inject dissolving enzymes
to quickly resolve the issue.
For inflammatory nodules,
prescribing antibiotics or administering
steroid injections may be necessary.
Please do not attempt to squeeze it yourself
or massage the area aggressively.
Doing so will likely worsen and spread the symptoms.
For reference, the dissolving enzymes
do not affect
the PDRN active ingredients.
So if you are worried about losing
the skin regeneration benefits,
you can put your mind at ease on this point.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q. It has been 3 days since my treatment and I feel a lump.
In the beginning, there is a very high
chance that it is just temporary swelling.
Please observe it for about 2 weeks.
Q. If I dissolve it, does that mean all benefits are gone?
While HA volume may decrease,
the PDRN ingredients remain behind
to continuously keep delivering results.
Q. Is there a way to prevent them?
The skill and experience of your doctor is key,
and you should avoid strenuous exercise
or saunas on the day of the treatment.
The best way is to have a thorough consultation
before the procedure to decide on the dosage
that is just right for you.
Warmly, Dr. Wi Young-jin.
