Rejuran results usually show first as smoother texture and better hydration a few weeks after the first session, and the overall result is judged after 3 sessions. What you should expect also depends on which type you had: Rejuran Healer, Rejuran Eye or Rejuran HB Plus each go into a different area for a different purpose. So if Rejuran doesn't seem to be working, the first thing I check is which type you received and how many times.

In this article, we'll cover when changes tend to appear, what each type is meant to change, how sessions are spaced, what it costs, which reactions are normal and how treatment fits a trip to Seoul.

When Do Rejuran Results Start to Show?

Not much changes after the first session alone. In most cases, texture and moisture improve over several weeks. One study injected 2 mL of Rejuran into one side of the face right after a radiofrequency microneedling treatment and measured the result 6 weeks later. The treated side improved more on pore and wrinkle scores and on skin hydration, but there was no difference in dermal thickness or elasticity.

That study looked at 25 women who had radiofrequency treatment at the same time, so it doesn't show what Rejuran does on its own. It also means deep changes, like firmer or lifted skin, aren't a realistic goal for one Rejuran session. Individual results vary.

If sagging is your main concern, I'd look at lifting treatments before Rejuran. Rejuran works on the quality of the skin itself: fine lines, rough texture and dryness. Asking it to lift a jawline is setting it up to disappoint you.

Rejuran Healer vs. HB Plus vs. Eye: What Should Each One Change?

Each type goes into a different place, so "Rejuran results" means something different for each one. Korea has four Rejuran types, and all of them are based on PN* from salmon.

*PN (polynucleotide): an ingredient purified from salmon DNA.

If you had Rejuran Healer across your face, judge it by fine lines, texture and dryness. If you had Rejuran Eye under the eyes, look at the fine lines and the quality of that thin skin. Rejuran HB Plus is authorized in Korea for crow's feet*, so judging it by whole-face firmness uses the wrong yardstick.

This is also why "Rejuran Healer vs. Rejuran HB" isn't a question of which one is stronger. They're aimed at different areas, and the right one depends on where your concern is.

How Many Rejuran Sessions, and How Far Apart?

The overall result is judged once the planned sessions are done. In a survey of 235 Korean dermatologists, 3 sessions 4 weeks apart was the schedule recommended most often. A trial around the eyes used 3 sessions 2 weeks apart.

Spacing that's too short means the next session goes in before the swelling and bumps from the last one have settled. Spacing that's too long makes it hard to compare one session with the next. Whatever the schedule, take the result at the end as your reference point, not the mirror the day after a session. How much you see depends on your skin.

Rejuran Bumps and Bruising: Side Effects and When to Call

Small raised bumps at each injection point, redness and bruising appear right after the injections and settle within a few days to weeks. Because Rejuran is injected densely into the dermis with a needle, you may feel pain during the injections. If these reactions worsen or spread instead of settling, contact your provider right away.

The signs below are different. Don't wait on them:

• Skin near the injection site turning white

• Unusual pain during or shortly after the injection

• Any change in your vision

• Sudden trouble speaking, numbness or weakness in the face, arms or legs, or difficulty walking

• Face drooping, a severe headache, dizziness or confusion

Get medical care right away for skin color changes or unusual pain, and go to the nearest emergency room for vision changes or any sign of a stroke*. A message to the clinic doesn't replace that care.

*Based on US FDA guidance on injectable dermal fillers in general, not on Rejuran specifically.

If a bump is still firm after several weeks, or becomes painful, red or larger, it may be inflammation and needs to be examined.

Fitting Rejuran Within Your Travel Schedule

Unless you've had sedation that day, there's no need to postpone your flight home after Rejuran.

It also helps to know what one visit means. Some treatments, such as hyaluronic acid fillers, change your shape the same day. Most others work gradually, bringing your skin closer to how it used to look rather than changing it all at once. Rejuran is in the gradual group, and a single visit doesn't replace a planned series of sessions.

Once you're home, you can reach us with photos if you have questions about how your skin is settling. If something changes sharply, such as skin turning pale, worsening pain or any change in your vision, see a local doctor or emergency room first rather than waiting for a reply.

The Bottom Line: Record the Type, Amount and Date

Before your first session, take front and side photos in the same light and at the same angle, so you have something to compare against after the third. Write down the type, the amount in mL and the date of each session, too; that record is what sets the interval for the next one. At the consultation, I look at texture, dry patches and left-right differences across your face first, then decide which type goes where. If side effects are your main concern, talk to your provider before deciding.
