Comparison between Shrink Universe Effect and Ultherapy, from double chin to nasolabial folds to V-line — 10 Q&A directly answered by the director. 2 minutes walk from Hapjeong Station.
Hello, I'm a specialist from Seoul National University

During Shrink consultations, similar questions tend to be repeated. So this time, I've summarized 10 questions that are frequently asked. I didn't want to write it like an advertisement, so I wrote it as if I were speaking in the consultation room.
What's the difference between Shrink and Shrink Universe?
Q1. What's the difference between Shrink and Shrink Universe?
Shrink Universe is an upgraded version of the original Shrink. The speed of energy delivery has increased, and the energy is delivered more evenly.
A LINEAR Tip has been introduced.
The existing Shrink delivered energy in dot form.
Dot shape + line for more effective energy delivery.
Introduction of the Booster Tip.
The existing tip was in a straight shape, making it difficult to administer in areas like the nasolabial folds.
The Booster Tip makes it easier to treat small localized areas like the nasolabial folds.

You should not think of it as the same Shrink. The difference in experience is quite noticeable.
Q2. Is there a big difference between doing the Shrink design sitting versus lying down?
Yes, it is quite different.
Depending on your position, the location of subcutaneous fat varies slightly.
When lying down, subcutaneous fat shifts to the side, shifting the design somewhat.
If you proceed without a design, the cheeks may collapse or the nasolabial fold effect may diminish.
The reason for designing in a sitting position and conducting the procedure accordingly.
You can accurately check the sagging areas and target the points.
This is not a matter of choice but a difference in results.
Q3. Does it work for double chin as well?
The causes of double chin can be broadly classified into two.

Collagen weakening → Solved with the Shrink Universe 3.0 Tip.
Collagen weakens between muscles and subcutaneous fat leading to sagging.
New collagen is generated in that layer — The principle of pulling upwards with a fishing line.
Excess fat → Shrink Universe 4.5 Tip + DCA treatment.
The 4.5 tip directly acts on the fat layer to dissolve the fat.
If there is a lot of fat, it is effective to combine it with DCA fat-dissolving injections.
Q4. Why is Shrink cheaper than Ultherapy? Is there a difference in effectiveness?
The price difference comes from the cost and precision of the machine — it does not mean lower effectiveness.
Ultherapy can access deeper layers with more precision.
Which machine is suitable varies depending on the skin condition, so it's hard to compare just by price.
People with limited time often choose Ultherapy, and their satisfaction is slightly higher.
Q5. Is it ineffective for those with significant sagging like in their 50s and 60s?
It's not that it is ineffective, but the approach changes.
The number of shots and energy levels are increased to enhance the lifting effect.
This age group often undergoes both lifting and tightening together.
Around the eyes → Eye Shrink.
Fine wrinkles area → Derma Shrink.
If you want more definitive results, I might recommend Ultherapy.
Just as a lot of split ends are cut off and restored, the more sagging has progressed, the more complex treatment is needed.

Q6. Is there a treatment that goes well with Shrink?
Shrink provides lifting — pulling reveals the areas that have sunk. I recommend concurrent treatments for each area.
Volume replenishment → Collagen makers (Sculptra, Radiesse, etc.) / Filler.
Direct fixation → Thread lifting.
In cases with a lot of fat → Double Slim / Penkyra (DCA fat-dissolving injection).
Q7. Which hurts more, Ultherapy or Shrink?
To be honest, both hurt.
Many say Ultherapy hurts a bit more, but it varies by individual.
However, it's at a bearable level — it’s not as painful as you might think 😊.

Q8. Does it work for initial nasolabial folds?
If it’s a covering type → Concentrated lifting around the cheek and nasolabial area can lead to significant changes.
If it’s deeply sunken → Combining with fillers is more effective.
If it’s in the early stage, you can feel improvements with just Shrink.

Q9. Does Shrink also stimulate collagen production? Is it similar to Juveau?
The orientations are completely different.
Juveau → Stimulates collagen uniformly across the entire skin.
Shrink → Generates collagen only at specific points where HIFU energy is delivered.
Because they serve different purposes, using them together can be complementary.
⚠️ Approaching Shrink with the aim of generating collagen in large quantities is not appropriate. The main purpose of Shrink is lifting.
Q10. Does Shrink also have a V-line jaw effect?
Yes, it does.
The tissue around the jawbone contracts, making the bone line stand out clearly.
It's not about losing fat; it's about organizing tissue to enhance the line.
It feels more like 'reviving the lines that were already there' rather than a dramatic change.
