Shurink Universe: The Real Variable in Results
Why Shurink Universe results vary: principles, clinical expectations, and cartridge depth choice.

Shurink Universe —
The Real Variable Behind the Results Seen in a 47-Minute Consultation
First, let me give you the conclusion.
Shurink Universe is not about "device power"
but about "depth planning."
I’ll explain why in this post.

So what exactly is different?
Shurink Universe
uses HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound)
to target the dermis and SMAS layer
with thermal coagulation points, making it a lifting device.
Unlike the original Shurink,
Universe adds MP mode (multi-pulse),
so energy is delivered multiple times and dispersed within a single shot.
Simply put, it hurts less,
and it can cover larger areas
like the cheeks and forehead more densely.

Why do some people see less effect?
Dr. Wi Young-jin’s
Key Insight
Does Shurink Universe really work?
The doctor explains everything from the treatment principle to expectations.
The key is this.
The effect of Shurink Universe depends
not on "how many shots were fired," but on
"at what depth and on which area it was delivered."
A client in their 40s who came last month
received treatment only with the 1.5mm cartridge
and did not see any improvement in sagging.
Jawline and mouth-area sagging are not problems of the shallow dermis;
they require targeting the 4.5mm SMAS layer.
Shurink Universe is usually
designed and used with 1.5mm (fine lines), 3.0mm (elasticity), and 4.5mm (sagging)
cartridges according to the purpose.
Dr. Wi Young-jin’s Key Summary
With Shurink Universe, it’s not about "how many shots"
but about "what depth."
During the consultation, first determine whether your concern is sagging, elasticity, or fine lines,
and then check the cartridge setup.

This is how I divide it in the clinic
Main concern | Recommended cartridge setup | When you feel the effect |
Jawline sagging / heavy cheeks | Mainly 4.5mm + 3.0mm support | 4-8 weeks |
Loss of elasticity / skin texture | 3.0mm + 1.5mm | 2-4 weeks |
Mainly pores / fine lines | Mainly 1.5mm | 1-3 weeks |
Overall aging prevention | Mainly 3.0mm + a small amount of 4.5mm | 3-6 weeks |
However, Shurink also has a fat-reducing effect,
so if someone with little cheek fat gets too much 4.5mm treatment,
the face can look sunken.
So for a thin face shape, it’s safer to limit the number of shots
or focus on 3.0mm.
The three questions I get most often in the clinic
Q1. Shurink Universe
Does it still work if I only get it once?
You can feel improvement in skin texture even after one session,
but one treatment is not enough for sagging improvement.
Usually, a basic course of 2 to 3 sessions
is recommended at intervals of 4 to 6 months.
Q2. How many shots are appropriate,
and how much should I expect to pay?
For the entire face, 600 to 1000 shots
is typical.
Very cheap promotions often exclude the 4.5mm
lifting cartridge, so be sure to check.
Q3. What side effects or precautions are there after the procedure?
The most common are redness and tingling.
The rare risk of muscle paralysis
depends on the practitioner’s understanding of anatomy.
For about 2 weeks after the procedure, avoid saunas and alcohol,
and make sure to keep your skin moisturized.
If you’re unsure which setup suits your face shape,
send me a photo on KakaoTalk.
