Infini targets deep boxcar and icepick Scars; CureJet suits shallow Pores and mild scars.
When consulting for acne scars or deep pores, you'll often hear "Infini" and "CureJet" mentioned together. Since both are classified under the RF microneedling category, you might think they are similar treatments. However, once you look at the price list and downtime guidelines, the differences become very clear.
To get straight to the point, while both treatments share the same broad framework of using "needles + radiofrequency (RF)," they differ in needle depth, energy output, and the types of scars they target. Therefore, rather than expecting "one treatment to solve everything," it is best to choose based on your scar shape and recovery timeline. The fact that methods like microneedling and radiofrequency are used together in acne scar treatment also stems from this same context.
The Broad Framework of RF Microneedling
RF microneedling is a treatment that delivers radiofrequency energy deep into the dermis by inserting fine needles into the skin. Unlike ablative lasers that resurface the skin to generate new collagen, RF microneedling leaves the skin surface relatively untouched and directly stimulates the dermal layer with heat to induce new collagen production.
Because of this, the surface downtime is relatively short. There is some swelling on the day of the treatment, and tiny dot-like marks may be visible starting the next day, but these surface marks usually subside within a week. However, the collagen remodeling happening deep inside the dermis takes place gradually over 1 to 3 months.
RF Microneedling*: A device that delivers radiofrequency energy deep into the dermis using fine needles. It goes by various names such as Infini, Potenza, Secret RF, and CureJet.

Where Infini RF Shines
Infini uses insulated, gold-coated microneedles so that the RF energy is emitted only from the very tips of the needles. The needle depth can be adjusted between 0.5mm and 3.5mm, making it exceptionally effective for boxcar and icepick scars that require strong energy to reach deep into the dermis.
Since its structure allows new collagen to form deep down while minimizing surface damage, the benefits of Infini become even clearer for deeper scars. However, because it works powerfully in the deeper layers, swelling and pinpoint marks on the day of the treatment are slightly more noticeable than with CureJet. A typical plan involves accumulating 3 to 5 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart.

Where CureJet Shines
Although CureJet is also an RF microneedling device, it finely adjusts the needle depth and energy output, making it ideal for relatively shallow areas like pores, fine scars, and surface texture. It is often more budget-friendly per session, and because visible surface improvements tend to appear quickly, the recommended number of sessions may be shorter than for Infini.
However, it may not reach deep boxcar and icepick scars as powerfully as Infini. Therefore, if you have a mix of deep scars, many clients choose to combine CureJet with Infini or other treatments (such as subcision or TCA CROSS) rather than relying on CureJet alone.

How Should You Decide?
The most common criteria we use during consultations are "scar depth" and "recovery timeline." If you have many deep boxcar or icepick scars, Infini is your primary candidate. If your main concerns are pores, rough skin texture, or shallow scars, CureJet offers a more gentle option. If you have a combination of both, it is best to combine two or three treatments rather than trying to fix everything with just one.
In terms of recovery schedules, Infini can be scheduled every 4 to 6 weeks, while CureJet is typically scheduled every 3 to 4 weeks. If you do not protect your skin from UV rays between sessions, PIH (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation) can occur and compromise your results. This makes post-treatment care between sessions just as important as the procedure itself. Please note that this article is for general information, and your specific scar types and treatment schedule should be discussed directly with your doctor.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Can I get Infini and CureJet at the same time?
A. Receiving both treatments on the same area on the same day is generally not recommended. Since both use RF to deliver heat to the dermis, overlapping the stimulation can prolong your recovery time. A more common approach is to alternate them, doing Infini for one session and CureJet for the next.
Q. Which treatment is more painful?
A. Generally, because Infini's needles penetrate deeper, the sensation during the procedure is stronger. However, by using a generous amount of numbing cream and coordinating the depth settings with your doctor, the discomfort can be managed to a very tolerable level. While CureJet is not completely painless, the intensity is generally gentler on average.
Q. When can I start wearing makeup during downtime?
A. For both treatments, it is best to avoid makeup on the day of the procedure, but many clients start wearing light makeup from the next day. If you are concerned about tiny pinpoint marks, lightly applying a thin layer of concealer is a safe way to cover them. Most surface marks will subside within a week.
