Radiesse,
Don’t Believe It When They Say the Results Are the Same Anywhere

Q. If you use only genuine Radiesse,
isn’t it the same wherever you get it?
A. Even with the same genuine product, the dilution ratio and injection depth
can completely change the volume, how long it lasts, and
the degree of improvement in skin texture.
Q. How can I tell which places in Seoul are good at
Radiesse?
A. During the consultation, a place that clearly answers questions like
"What dilution ratio do you use?" is the basic standard.

What is Radiesse?
Radiesse
is a semi-permanent filler and
collagen-stimulating treatment made by suspending calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA) microspheres
in a gel carrier.
Unlike ordinary hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers,
it not only provides volume immediately after injection
but also induces your own collagen production over time—
that’s the biggest difference.

Why the same Radiesse can produce different results,
the dilution ratio
This is the part many people misunderstand,
and a lot of people think, "If it’s genuine Radiesse, isn’t it all the same?"
That’s not actually the case.
To be honest, Radiesse is
sometimes used undiluted,
and sometimes diluted with lidocaine or normal saline
before use.
That’s why you can’t simply say
one option is always the correct one.
The reason is that
the treatment’s purpose itself changes depending on the dilution ratio.
The closer it is to undiluted, the better it is for volume lifting,
and the higher the dilution ratio,
the more the focus shifts to improving skin texture and elasticity.
Even I wasn’t sure at first whether this was right,
but after doing several hundred cases, I learned something.
Even with the same 1.5cc of Radiesse, if the dilution ratio is different,
the condition after 3 months is clearly different.
Director Wi Young-jin’s key takeaway
Even with the same product, Radiesse can become
a 'volume' treatment or a
'skin regeneration' treatment depending on the dilution ratio.
When you ask, "What dilution ratio do you use?" during the consultation,
that alone can help you judge the clinic’s level of expertise.
You can gauge the depth of their treatment approach.
Comparison of Radiesse characteristics by dilution ratio
Category | Undiluted~Low dilution (1:0~0.5) | Medium dilution (1:1) | High dilution (1:2 or more) |
Main purpose | Volume lifting | Volume + skin elasticity | Skin booster effect |
CaHA particle distribution | Concentrated in a narrow area | Evenly dispersed | Widely and thinly dispersed |
Volume retention period | 12~18 months | 10~14 months | 6~10 months |
Suitable areas | Chin tip, nose, forehead | Cheeks, temples, nasolabial folds | Neck, back of hands, entire face |

3 things you must check
when getting Radiesse in Seoul
First, ask about the dilution ratio.
A place that answers, "We decide after looking at the patient’s condition,"
is giving the most normal answer.
You should actually be suspicious of places that promote a fixed ratio.
Second, check the injection layer.
Radiesse is, in principle, injected into the deep dermis or
on top of the periosteum,
but if it is placed too superficially, clumping or
surface unevenness can occur.
Third, see whether they provide aftercare guidance.
If they explain why you should avoid saunas and
strenuous exercise within 2 weeks after the procedure,
they are doing the basics right.

Frequently asked questions
Q1. Can Radiesse and Juvederm be injected together?
Yes. If you use Radiesse for volume,
and separate the lips or under-eye area with HA filler,
you can get optimized results for each area.
Q2. How much does it cost, and
how many sessions do I need?
In Seoul, one 1.5cc syringe
typically ranges from about KRW 300,000 to 600,000, so the price varies widely.
If the goal is volume, one session may be enough,
and if the goal is elasticity, 2 to 3 sessions are recommended.
Q3. I’m worried about clumping or side effects;
is it okay?
If the injection depth is wrong, clumping can occur,
so it should not be used on thin skin areas such as the under-eyes or lips.
That is the rule.
If you were treated by medical staff with anatomical knowledge,
you really don’t need to worry much.
