Tiny Bumps After Rejuran? 80% Are Normal
Searching Rejuran side effects? Bumps at 7–10 days are normal PN particles — here’s how to tell.

After Rejuran,
for those who come saying they can feel tiny bumps,
80% of the time it’s normal
Last Friday, a client came to the clinic on day 3 after the procedure,
startled after looking in the mirror,
and asked to be seen.
She said she could feel small, round bumps like grains on her cheek,
and was very worried that it might be a side effect or a nodule.
In fact, we get questions like this
three or four times every week.

Rejuran side effects:
let’s separate the real from the false first
Rejuran uses PN extracted from salmon DNA,
which is injected directly into the dermis to encourage skin regeneration.
Unlike volume-building treatments such as Juvelook or Sculptra,
Rejuran is a treatment that
repairs the damaged dermis itself.
Because it is not a filler treatment,
its mechanism is different from the start.

After Rejuran,
the real mechanism behind the tiny bumps you can feel
"Because Rejuran is a treatment in which PN particles
remain in the dermis,
small rice-grain-like nodules
may be felt for about 7 to 10 days right after the procedure.
This is not a side effect, but
a normal absorption process,
and if you do not keep touching it,
it will fade naturally."
— Dr. Wi Young-jin (Beautystone Clinic, Hongdae)
There is a rumor that nodules remain after Rejuran.
But in fact, that tiny bump you can feel right after the procedure
is often
evidence that Rejuran was delivered properly.
Because PN is a particle with a large molecular weight, once it is placed in the dermal layer,
it is not absorbed immediately
and stays in place for about a week.
During that process, the particles may
feel like tiny bumps.
As long as you do not press or rub the area,
it disappearing within 10 days is
a very common course.

Rejuran side effects:
how to tell a normal reaction from a warning sign
This becomes much clearer at a glance.
Category | Symptoms | Duration | What to do |
Normal reaction | Rice-grain-like nodules, mild swelling | 3–10 days | Avoid touching, cold compress |
Warning stage | Firm nodule lasting more than 2 weeks | 14 days or more | Visit the clinic for massage care |
Immediate response | Redness with pain, abscess | Occurs immediately | Visit the clinic immediately, antibiotic prescription |
If the injection is too shallow, nodules can remain for a long time,
and if it is too deep, the effect drops and only bruising remains.
That is why it is important to follow the 4-session Rejuran protocol.
.
The right amount needs to be divided and injected so that the cumulative effect can build,
and so that the nodules after each session can resolve within the normal range.
Avoid makeup on the day of treatment and
refrain from massage for one week.
If you keep touching it with your hands,
the particles can clump together and become a true nodule.
Three questions we hear very often in the clinic
Q1. The bruise hasn’t gone away after more than a week.
Is that a problem?
Small pinpoint bruises lasting around 10 days are common.
In areas with thinner skin, such as around the eyes, they often last even longer.
However, if the bruise gets larger or the pain becomes worse,
it may be due to vascular compression, so
please make sure to visit the clinic at that point.
Q2. If a side effect appears midway,
should I stop the treatment?
Rice-grain bumps or mild bruising within the normal range are okay.
But if a nodule does not resolve after more than 2 weeks,
we would exclude that area from the
next session or adjust the depth.
Forcing the schedule to fit can
actually do more harm than good.
Q3. What should I do if the nodule seems not to be resolving?
Pressing hard at home or
trying to squeeze it with a needle is the worst choice.
That can leave pigmentation or
a dent behind.
If it is still there after 14 days,
please do not touch it and come to the clinic.
In most cases, it can be managed well with radiofrequency care and similar treatments.
If you take away just one thing today,
— the tiny bumps that you can feel within a week after treatment
are a 'normal sign,'
so please remember that they are not a sign of a side effect.

I’ll talk about a 'home care routine to maximize Rejuran results.'
