Scars that improve vs scars that waste your money

Now that it’s spring,
I looked at some outdoor photos,
and my face,,
the scars looked way too severe.
So..
this is about CureJet. hehe
In today’s post,
let me first go over the key questions that come up often.
Q. Is CureJet
different from a laser?
A. Yes, it is not a laser.
I’ll explain in detail in the main text.

Q. Is it effective even for depressed scars (ice-pick, boxcar, etc.)?
A. The effect varies depending on the type of scar.
Which cases it suits well
is covered specifically in the main text.
Q. Is one session enough?
A. No, usually multiple sessions are needed.
I’ll explain below how many sessions are realistic.
Starting with what CureJet is
— it is not a laser
This is something many people misunderstand,
CureJet is not a laser device.
More accurately, it is a needle-free injector
(a needleless injection device).
Using a high-pressure jet stream without needles,
it pushes medication
into the skin.
It delivers small shock waves to the skin
while simultaneously allowing medication
to penetrate to the dermis.
What makes this a bit confusing is,
from the outside it feels like something is being shot,
so
many people think it’s a laser.
But the mechanism is completely different.
Common agents used with CureJet are
Rejuran (PDRN — a DNA repair component extracted from salmon)
Hyaluronic acid
Exosomes
Growth factor complex
.
Depending on which agent is used,
the purpose differs slightly,
and for acne scars, ingredients that
promote skin regeneration are mainly used.
Which scars is it good for,
and which scars have limitations?

To be honest, CureJet does not
work well for every type of acne scar.
Let me share realistic expectations
by scar type.
Scar type | Characteristics | CureJet suitability |
Erythematous scars (red marks) | Pigment is present but no depression | Good effect |
Hyperpigmentation (brown marks) | Discoloration due to melanin deposition | Good effect |
Rolling scars (gently depressed) | A broad, pressed-down skin contour | Can be used as an adjunct |
Boxcar scars (vertically depressed) | Deep scars with clear borders | Limited as monotherapy |
Ice-pick scars (deep, needle-like pits) | The deepest and narrowest form | Limited effect when used alone |
But there is one important point here.
Just because a scar is deeply depressed
does not mean CureJet is completely meaningless.
When combined with procedures like
Fraxel, Infini, or CO2 laser, it can help improve
skin recovery, creating synergy.
It may be difficult to expect it to fill
depressed scars on its own, but
as one axis of combination therapy,
it definitely has value.
Director Wi Young-jin’s practical note:
In my experience, among patients who come in
for CureJet alone,
quite a few have ice-pick or boxcar scars
as their main concern.
In such cases,
I first explain honestly.
“These scars are hard to fill significantly with CureJet alone,
so it is better to consider
laser or subcision first.”
I also
always explain this in advance.
Still, if redness or pigmented marks
are present together,
using CureJet in combination can help
improve overall skin tone
more quickly in many cases.
The procedure and pain,
what is it actually like?

Just because CureJet has no needle
doesn’t mean it is painless.
Since it penetrates the skin with high pressure,
there is a brief, wedge-like刺激.
We do apply numbing cream before treatment,
and it varies by case,
but this is usually how I do it.
Apply numbing cream for 20–30 minutes, wipe it off,
then perform CureJet on the full face or
focused areas.
Treatment time is about 15–20 minutes.
Right after treatment, there may be slight erythema (redness)
and swelling,
but in most cases it subsides within the same day to the next day.
You can wash your face or do light moisturizing right away,
but strong friction or saunas
are best avoided for a few days.
Because recovery is relatively quick, office workers also
often schedule it during lunch breaks
or come after work.
Key summary:
CureJet is a needleless injection method
that delivers medication with high pressure.
It is effective for redness and pigmented scars, but
has limitations for deep depressed scars when used alone, so
combination treatment is recommended.
How many sessions are needed,
and how much does it cost?

This varies greatly by clinic, but
in my experience, for acne scar improvement,
at least 4–6 sessions are needed
for many people to feel noticeable change.
The price per session differs by clinic,
and also depends on which agent is used,
so it is hard to state
a fixed number here.
The downside is the cost ^^..
Among the agents, if exosomes or
special growth factors are included,
the cost rises much higher than Rejuran alone.
This is a bit unfortunate, but
because CureJet is a non-covered item,
pricing standards vary widely.
Before consultation, it’s good to check
which agent is being used
and the price of that agent in advance.
Still, compared to lasers, the shorter recovery time and
lower procedure burden
are clear advantages.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. While receiving CureJet,
can I also get other scar lasers?
A. Yes, you can. In fact, if you have deep scars,
CureJet is often combined before/after laser treatment
to enhance skin regeneration.
However, doing both on the same area
on the same day at once
should be judged based on skin condition.
Q2. What’s the difference between
Rejuran Healer injections and CureJet?
A. Rejuran Healer is injected directly into the dermis
with a needle,
while CureJet delivers medication
with a high-pressure jet without needles.
The ingredients may be similar, but
the depth and method of delivery are different.
People with needle phobia
often find CureJet
more comfortable.
Q3. Can I get it while I still have
active acne?
A. If there is a lot of active acne present,
it is best to adjust the treatment timing.
If treated over inflamed areas,
it can actually spread.
Usually, acne is first calmed down to some extent,
then scar treatment is started.
