or after filler?

We always apply DuoDERM,

but I think many people may not know, so Iu0019ll explain.

DuoDerm Change Schedule: All You Need to Know

Director Wi Young-jinu0019s key DuoDERM summary

  • If the wound is larger u001a keep it on longer

  • If there is a lot of exudate u001a you need to keep it on longer

  • If possible u001a 5 days is usually enough

Then in what cases is it more than 5 days?

Iu0019ll explain below. Haha

1. What is DuoDERM?

DuoDERM is a moist wound dressing product.

Unlike a regular bandage that just covers, it absorbs wound fluid and creates a moist environment.

That moist environment helps cell regeneration.

It swells and turns yellow after applicationu0014is that normal?

Yes, that is completely normal.

That yellow fluid is exudate. Itu0019s a healing substance your body produces to repair wounds, and it contains growth factors, immune cells, and proteins.

DuoDERM swells as it absorbs that fluid, and that state is actually the best environment for skin regeneration.

Yellow swelling = a sign that itu0019s healing well.

Never change it once a day. The longer it stays on, the better.

2. How often should I change it?

Bottom line: if there are no issues, just leave it for 5 days.

It varies slightly by procedure.

Procedure type

Recommended period

Reason

Mole removal / Wart

5 days

Small, shallow wound

Filler / Thread lifting

3u00135 days

Minimize irritation

Acne (large)

5 days

If the area is wide, periodic checks are needed

Incision procedure

Follow doctoru0019s instructions

Varies by case

Even before 5 days, change it in these cases:

  • When fluid leaks out

  • When more than half has lifted or fallen off

  • When it has swollen yellow and seems about to overflow

On the other hand, if it adheres well and thereu0019s no leakage, you donu0019t have to remove it.

2. How often should I change it?

3. Do NOT use it like this ❌

It works very well when used properly, but if used incorrectly, it can backfire.

  • ❌ Applying it to a wound suspected of infection (if painful, go to the hospital first)

  • ❌ Applying without drying moisture

  • ❌ Forcibly peeling it off

  • ❌ Just sticking it on acne (anti-inflammatory injection or drainage comes first)

What if it wonu0019t come off when removing?

Never force it off.

If you force it off, newly formed skin cells can be torn off too. That damages regenerating tissue.

3. Do NOT use it like this ❌

Conclusion

Just remember this: 5 days.

Just understanding the replacement interval correctly can significantly reduce scar concerns.

In these cases, please visit the hospital

  • When the surrounding area turns red or feels warm u001a suspected infection

  • When the fluid is greenish or smells u001a infection check needed

  • When 5 days have passed and the wound is not healing at all

  • When after removal the skin looks pitted or sunken
